Amy Rogers graduated with honors from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. While in college, Amy gained broadcast experience by interning in the news department at Golf Channel in Orlando, Florida. During her internship, Amy produced more than 20 minutes of material which aired on Golf Central, including highlights from the PGA Tour and a package featuring the Special Olympics. Amy capped off her internship as a runner at the 2006 PGA Championship at Medinah. Before graduating, Amy also interned with the sports news department at WYFF-TV in Greenville, South Carolina, where she helped write scripts and edit highlights for the evening newscast.As an anchor, reporter and producer at VNN, a 24-hour cable news station, Amy was recognized with both an A.P. and Telly Award for her work on a series of news specials featuring members of law enforcement. Her interviews featured a former Secret Service agent who protected five U.S. Presidents.Also at VNN, Amy produced "Good Sports," a daily package focusing on athletes and sports related stories in the community. A hit among residents, Amy's features received a record number of views on the VNN website. Some of Amy's favorite "Good Sports" included interviews with LPGA legend Nancy Lopez, former Michael Jordan teammate Will Perdue, and Muhammad Ali's trainer Angelo Dundee. As a freelance producer at Golf Channel, Amy has enjoyed the opportunity to produce features and segments for a variety of programs on Golf Channel. Amy traveled to Miami, Florida to cover the launch of the South Florida Chapter of the Midnight Golf Program, which helps inner city youth discover the benefits of golf both on and off the golf course. Amy produced a variety of features which included the Champions Tour's Allen Doyle and his work with The First Tee, the Tee-Lo Golf Program, and the story of a couple whose love of golf and their community brought them together and ultimately married during the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach in 2010. Amy has also field produced for Golf Channel at the PGA Show, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and traveled to Pine Needles Golf Club in North Carolina to cover the 90th birthday celebration of LPGA charter member Peggy Kirk Bell.In August 2009 Amy began co-hosting the Dish Network TV series "Eye on Travel" featuring attractions and resort properties throughout Florida. Her travels included visits to the popular Ron Jon Resort, the world famous underwater mermaid show at Weeki Wachee, and historical landmarks in Naples. In October 2010, Amy joined WUCF as a feature reporter producing features for a monthly magazine style news show called "One." In addition to reporting, Amy became host of the show in June 2011.Amy kicked-off 2012 by becoming the part-tme sports anchor for WESH, the NBC affiliate in Orlando, Florida. She can be seen anchoring the sportscast during the 6pm and 11pm news on Thursday and Friday evenings.
